Kartik Aaryan is gearing up for the release of his next film, Love Aaj Kal directed by Imtiaz Ali. While the film marks Kartik’s first collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker, the industry rumour-mill is buzzing with reports of the actor-director duo already collaborating for another project.

While Aaryan’s fans cannot contain their excitement ever since reports have been doing rounds, there is no official announcement about the same yet. So in Kartik Aaryan’s recent interview, the actor was quizzed about the possibility of yet another film with Imtiaz Ali.

Pouring the tea you need to know, Kartik who rose to fame post Pyaar Ka Punchanama, said to Bollywood Hungama, “I think Imtiaz sir is the right person to answer that question. I would love to work with him repeatedly. Right now we have Love Aaj Kal and depending on the future and what Imtiaz sir thinks, another film with him depends on that.”

While Kartik made it very clear that he indeed would love to collaborate with the maverick director yet again, he refused to confirm or deny the possibility in any way.

Meanwhile, Love Aaj Kal is a story spin-off to Imtiaz’s 2009 hit film by the same name. featuring Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan and Randeep Hooda in pivotal roles, Love Aaj Kal is slated to release on the 14th of February, 2020.

Kartik also has Collin D’Cunha, Dostana 2 and Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in the making.

Tanhaji Box Office: Ajay Devgn-Saif Ali Khan’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior performed extremely well during its 5th weekend and maintained a good hold again on Monday. In India alone, the period drama has accumulated 267.76 crores and is now chasing Kabir Singh’s lifetime collections.

Speaking about global collections, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has crossed a big milestone of 350 crores. Till now, the film has earned 350.95 crores including 315.95 crores gross (267.76 crores nett) of India and 35 crores of the overseas market. Before wrapping up the theatrical run, Tanhaji is expected to cross Bajirao Mastani (367 crores gross) in Koimoi Bollywood’s Top Worldwide Earners (200 crores and above).

Kalki Koechlin has introduced her newborn baby girl Sappho to the world and thanked her team of doctors who did not give up on her even after 17-hour-long labour.

Kalki took to Instagram, where she shared a string of photographs of her along with her daughter, and boyfriend Guy Hershberg and also the team of doctors, who helped her with child birth.

“So thankful to the whole team at Tulip Women’s Care and to my to doctors @docsheetalsabharwal and @drrvpunjabi who simply refused to give up on me even when after 17 hours I was so tired I begged them to take the baby out anyway they could and they said no, you’ve come this far and you’re going to have your natural waterbirth, and an hour later Sappho was born. You guys are miracle workers!” Kalki captioned the images.

The 35-year-old in September opened up about her relationship with Hershberg, an Israeli classical pianist. Kalki had previously married filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in 2011 but the duo separated after two years of being married.

There’s no fear of criticism, there’s only expectation level that I want to set for myself that I want to achieve from a certain film. May be from my next I’d like to achieve the commercial or massy entertainer aspect. With Dostana 2, I really want to push the envelope.”

Furthermore, about all his lineups and taking the franchises forward, he added, “I’m really blessed that I’m getting such opportunities in such early stage of my career that I’m getting the opportunity to work with such filmmakers and with those kinds of script, which I feel are really good. Actress Neha Dhupia and actor Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput will launch a short distance walkathon for pregnant women here on February 23.

This one-kilometer walk is organized with the purpose to inspire moms-to-be to take #BiglittleSteps towards a whole new world of becoming a mother.

The Bio-Oil Pregathon focuses on encouraging them to discover the importance of self-love and stay fit throughout their pregnancy.

“From the moment you find out that you are going to be a mother, it is a natural instinct to feel overprotective for your child and you tend to put yourself second. I still remember during my fifth month, before doing anything, I would ask myself ‘Is this good for my baby?’ However, in the process, I never asked myself what I really needed or should be doing for myself,” said Neha.

Neha further said that she realized this during the healing period that self-love is an extremely essential part of the journey and every mother should be mindful of the same.

“You need to be in good health and in a good space to be able to take care of your child once he/she is born. I am really happy that Bio-Oil is taking a step towards helping expectant mothers realise they should along with the baby, also look out and love themselves – eat right, exercise, get adequate rest and generally do what makes them happy,” she added.

Mira, a mother of two, shared, “During my pregnancy, I realised I would forget to look after myself and understood the importance of self-care the second time around, like eating right, exercising and doing things that just make you happy.”

Mira concluded saying, “I urge all expectant mothers to come and take big little steps towards self-care and join me for this walk.”

Salman Khan is all set to gift his fans with another Eidi in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai as the film conquers Eid this year. It’s just 10 days from wrapping up the shoot and it started only in November. Salman has managed to promote Dabangg 3, shoot for Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and host Bigg Boss effortlessly.

Just before the shoot gets over, a really interesting thing about the film’s plot has been surfacing on the internet. The reports state that there’s a similar sub-plot twist to Radhe as Salman Khan’s Tere Naam.

A source close to Bollywood Hungama reports, “As part of tweaking the storyline, the writers and director Prabhudheva have added an interesting college politics angle to the film. This track seamlessly gels with the rest of the film and also adds a lot of thrill and entertainment. Salman Khan, too, liked the idea and gave his nod for its incorporation in the script.”

It also added, “In Tere Naam too, Salman’s character was named Radhe. It’s a name synonymous with the superstar now. The makers didn’t realize the Tere Naam connection at first when they added the college politics bit. But later, when they realized, they were amazed. Salman and everyone felt that it’ll serve as a nice ode to Tere Naam.”

Salman plays a cop once again in Radhe. The film marks his return with director Prabhudheva after their 2009 blockbuster Wanted, which saw him play an undercover cop. Before Radhe, Prabhudheva directed Salman in last December, Dabangg 3, which saw the superstar reprise his iconic character Inspector Chulbul Pandey.

Radhe is scheduled to hit the screens on Eid this year. The film also features Disha Patani.

Opening up about her stand on the issue, Taapsee Pannu has been quoted saying, “I hope it impacts consumers and they stop buying these fairness creams and realise that’s no standard of beauty. It is a very personal choice of a human being to look the way he or she wants to but if I am asked, I will never endorse fairness as benchmark for beauty.”

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Dia Mirza too has said, “As we evolve in our understanding of what kind of advertising perpetuates stereotypes, gender discrimination and falsehoods, we must collectively take responsibility to ensure this ends.”

Sona Mohapatra, who is known to be quite outspoken, also shared her bit on the new draft. She said, “I welcome this move wholeheartedly and it is about time that we acknowledge the regressive, deeply disturbing nature & impact of such advertising campaigns.”

She went on to reveal how she was asked to endorse a brand that promoted ‘fair babies’. She rejected the ad as she did not support such norms. She told, “Many years ago when I was a brand manager for a leading FMCG firm that was on the verge of launching a new baby care range, once again the positioning idea for the brands campaign that was being presented most strongly by the consumer research teams was around ‘fair babies’. I remember putting my foot down and refusing to sanction that campaign .”

For the uninitiated, the draft proposed by the Health and Family Welfare Ministry includes an amendment to the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements Act, 1954). The draft proposes that advertisements for fairness creams, a cure for AIDS and more would come under the scanner. Any firm that promotes the restricted items would be liable for a jail term of up to five years and a fine of up to Rs 50 lakh.

In an interview with Koimoi, when Ayushmann Khurrana was asked what they didn’t cast gay actors to play the lead roles, he said, “You need a bankable actor for this kind of film for penetration. Then it becomes a parallel cinema. We did try to cast a homosexual actor to be paired opposite to me. We approached a lot of homosexual actors, but they said that they don’t want to come out in the open.”

He added, “These actors said that even for the promotions if we say that we are gay, no one will give us the role of a heterosexual guy. Professional actors weren’t ready to come forward.” The Bala actor further stated that they also conducted auditions of non-actors for the film, but that couldn’t be achieved.

There’s a huge recall value that of Love Aaj Kal and that has made sure to increase the visibility of the second instalment. Furthermore, Sara and Kartik are big stars today individually as well as a couple. #SarTik is immensely popular among youngsters and they love to see them together. The film has been well promoted and the promos and music have managed to reach a considerable amount of the audience.

I’ll rate the current reach of the film as 7.5/10

Buzz: The trailer wasn’t well accepted but the music of the film has created a very good impact. Imtiaz, Irshad Kamil & Pritam have always collaborated to give the audience some of the really good numbers and this time, it’s no different. 4 songs from the film have been released and all of them have a value. 3 songs are already getting popular in the musical charts which have made the film hot among youth.

Kartik Aaryan has been pretty successful at the Box Office in the past some years as he has given hits after hits. Sara Ali Khan who made her debut in 2018 gave two back to back successes with Simmba being a super hit.

I’ll rate the current buzz of the film as 6.5/10

Love Aaj Kal is a solo release and the holdover releases Malang, Jawaani Jaaneman and Tanhaji won’t affect it much. There’s a lot going in the favour of the film which means the film should take an opening in the 14-16 crores range.

Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor has one of the most successful films of 2019. With the huge success came a lot of criticism about how the film had a misogynistic viewpoint and the actor was slammed for being a part of it. Vidya Balan, who has worked with the actor in Kismat Konnection, however, defended the actor.

The actress recently attended a press event and when questioned about Shahid Kapoor’s film Kabir Singh, Vidya was all supportive of him being a part of such a film. She said that if an actor is okay with doing a film like Kabir Singh then he is allowed to act in it.

She said, “If you don’t like Kabir Singh, you should not go and watch it. If the actor liked it, he should be allowed to do it. Who are you to say that don’t make this film? In social media, if one person calls it (a film) regressive, then 100 others call it so and that continues.”

Kabir Singh was tagged as a ‘regressive’ film. Addressing the same point, Vidya further added, “I don’t even think they know what regressive means. It has become necessary to be seen taking a stand that does not even matter. As actors, we are asked questions on all sorts of topics and we are supposed to take a stand. Sometimes you are not even aware of the subject being discussed. Why don’t they ask sportspersons that?”

On the work front, Vidya will next be seen in Shakuntala Devi, a biopic of a great mathematician. The film which also stars Sanya Malhotra, Amit Sadh & Jisshu Sengupta has been creating buzz ever since its announcement.

Shakuntala Devi brings to life the legendary and inspirational story of Shakuntala Devi, popularly known as ‘The Human-Computer’.The film is directed by Anu Menon and backed by Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Vikram Malhotra. The film is slated to release on May 8.

Till now, Love Aaj Kal has been successful in creating a good awareness about its release. The buzz around Kartik, Sara’s off-screen bond, pictures from the shoot, songs and other factors have worked really great in garnering maximum hype for the film. To an extension to Imtiaz’s universe, Veer (Kartik Aaryan) and Zoe (Kartik Aaryan) are one of the most complicated characters he has ever penned. They aren’t complicated for what they do, they’re for what they don’t. An always confused yet true to his heart Veer isn’t your run-of-the-mill hero, he’s just your routine person who believes true love exists. He feels Zoe, a girl with a plan set until her retirement, is his soulmate and decides to stalk.

Raj (Randeep) is the owner of a cafe in which Veer and Zoe meet. Raj helps Zoe get close to Veer by sharing some real-life incidents. Incidents from 1990 when we had a simple version of love. With each of the incident Raj narrates, he brings in some notable changes in the couple’s life. It’s about how stories from both the eras have one thing in common ‘a knotty maze’ which aids the characters to define their version of love.

Love Aaj Kal Movie Review: Script Analysis

You know it’s pure Imtiaz when the film starts with a quote from Rumi. What’s interesting is Imtiaz uses half of the quote, “The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you…” The other half of this quote is, “…not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.” Completed this quote because this is what the script is. It’s just another Ali’s way of looking at how love could be. It unfurls a different layer emotional depth which is still new even for Imtiaz.

The problem emerges when all starts getting serious even for Imtiaz level. Under the bright, quirky graffiti walls, Imtiaz stuffs the dark-undertones which explodes together. It’s one of those movies which I’ll cherish forever but find it hard to recommend to anyone whom I don’t know well. It’ll be emotionally exhausting for many.

Love Aaj Kal Movie Review: Star Performance

Just like his character Kartik Aaryan wanders through Ali’s narration. He’s lost but knows the destination and hence surrenders himself completely to the director. Kartik breaks every single rule set by him and the vulnerability around his character diminishes the restrictions he had for himself. As every Imtiaz Ali hero has layers and so does Kartik, he tries to peel them off but there are times when he comes across trying too hard.

You give Imtiaz raw & rustic charm, he’ll return you, Heer or Tara. We watch Sara Ali Khan grow as an actor with every passing scene. There are some hits and some misses but we see her playing around the range many are afraid of even after years. Sara takes a brave and bold decision to be Zoe and proved to be much more than just a beautiful face.

Randeep Hooda’s presence is way much than a cameo. He holds the most important aspects of the film and rightfully so. In a way, he’s the whole purpose of the film and his staggering presence justifies his act. He successfully tackles everything that Imtiaz throws at him, only to present it in a way it should’ve been.

Arushi Sharma is natural. Under the burdened of such layered screenplay, it becomes tough for first-timers to understand every nuance. She not only fits in well but also confines her screen-space making sure it just belongs to her. A terrific debut!

Love Aaj Kal Movie Review: Direction, Music

Imtiaz Ali takes this a level ahead & I’ll explain how. Till now problem was to build the love around the story, but this one’s already a love story, what now? He, yet again, masters the non-linear storyline keeping things neat and uncomplicated (timeline-wise). Ali uses a bit from each of his films, few traits from Rockstar’s Janardhan, a sprinkle of Cocktail’s Deepika, another way of narrating stories in a story after Tamasha & much more. The problem with Imtiaz’s direction is, he knows the route he takes might not be the most travelled but still he opts for it throwing us into the unknown.

Songs in an Imtiaz Ali film serves more than just melodious track with a soothing voice. To avoid the all-dialogue scenario, he gets his lines moulded into songs to continue the conversation. More than what Arijit Singh, Pritam have done to this album, this is “(Irshad) Kamil Ka Kamaal”. Parmeswara from the unreleased takes gives you the Chali Kahani vibes & the rap in it is a deal-breaker. Jubin Nautiyal croons the reprise version of Shayad and there’s a huge surprise by Mohit Chauhan. It’s an orgasm of an album.

Love Aaj Kal Movie Review: The Last Word

All said and done, Love Aaj Kal is yet another wild ride taken by Imtiaz Ali in the quest to give a new meaning to the old love. Watch it along with your broken heart.

He might have acted in the upcoming horror film “Bhoot: The Haunted Ship“, but Vicky Kaushal is extremely scared of ghosts in real life. In the build-up to the film’s release, the actor revealed a near-spooky experience from the sets.

“Once, during the shoot, a ladder was almost falling over me and suddenly stopped when it was just three inches away. I had a feeling that maybe there is someone on the set who is feeling disturbed due to us. So I silently requested, we are making your biopic, please let it happen smoothly. But nothing serious has happened with me as in no spooky experiences,” said Vicky.

The actor also revealed that he feels scared while watching horror films and never watches them alone. He shared: “I watch horror films very rarely. Maybe once a year I get the feeling that okay now I am grown up and I can watch a horror film. I feel really scared while watching horror films. I have watched a few in English such as Conjuring, Paranormal Activity and Annabelle. I prefer watching horror films with a set of friends, especially the ones who are even more scared than me. That gives me a little courage.”

However, despite being so scared of horror films, Vicky revealed that he somehow managed to shoot for one. “I was okay with shooting a horror film because I knew the moment there would be a cut, I would sit and sip tea with the ghost. So, I could manage that,” he smiled. Vicky is eager to overcome his fear of ghosts and revealed that he feels jealous of people who don’t feel scared to watch horror movies.

“I would love to overcome that fear because I get very jealous of people who say we really enjoy horror films. I wonder don’t they feel scared at night? If I see something in the kitchen in a horror film, I would probably see the same thing in my kitchen in real life! And it becomes difficult to sleep alone at night,” confessed Vicky.

There comes a time in our growing up years when we all love to try something adventurous, like maybe visiting a haunted house with friends. Did such a thought ever cross his mind? Vicky smiled as he replied: “I would always take part in the planning and encourage other friends to go. But I never gathered the courage to visit such a place myself.”

Not just ghosts, there is one more thing which the actor feels scared of, and that is water. Vicky disclosed that he has a phobia of water which has slightly reduced after shooting this film. “Till before this film, I had a phobia of water which has reduced quite a bit after shooting this. I swam underwater in a 25ft deep swimming pool and I enjoyed it. But the day I can perform a Scooba diving at night, not in a swimming pool but in a sea, only that day I feel I will successfully overcome my fear of water.”

The turning point in Vicky Kaushal’s career was the success of his film “Uri: The Surgical Strike” last year which even bagged him the much-coveted National Award. It has been a year after that and life has changed for better for the talented youngster.

Vicky said: “It has been a beautiful year. There was a time when I was even ready to pay to get work, and now I am receiving so much love. Producers can also rely on me now and I am getting work. Also, I am getting to work with filmmakers with whom it was my dream to work, which feels great. Also, my self-confidence has increased and I feel, yes I am on the right track.”

Directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, “Bhoot: The Haunted Ship” hits theatres on February 21. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana in important roles.
