However you try describing her finesse and grace, it would be impossible to sum it up in a few words. From making the nerdy glasses back in vogue to jumping across high octane ravishing numbers in gowns (add to that a seductive slit!), Deepika was on a roll on the fashion front too, this year. Scoring back to back hundred crore films might have elevated her as an actress, but her keen sense in fashion detailing has definitely fetched her the coveted Style icon statement, hands down! Spectacularly dressed as Meena Lochini in that strikingly exquisite White Kasavu saree, she stole the thunder in that Titli number. Add to that, the spunky high-on-boldness Leela who wowed us with her traditional Gujrati ghagra choli. Brownie points for those tattoos drawn on the body that made Leela a bewitching character of sorts. All in all, playing four diverse characters in a particular year, she made up for the glam quotient along with her bamboozling acts. And the story doesn’t end there. She even launched her own personalized clothing line in association with Van Heusen. Kya baat, kya baat!

Blame her luck but all that she does in her films now is to stand like a showpiece. Ok, correction! A glamourous showpiece which adds the dash of oomph and glitter to the film with her beauty! Sorry Kats, you might have tried too hard to make it perfect in Bollywod, but it is high time you figure out that you end up being a table stand in a film that unceremoniously deals with your male leads. Nevertheless, considering your style quotient that has always been on a high, Katrina was the saving grace in a tanker of a film, which despite having an Aamir Khan, had to resort to an eye catching strip tease by the actress to create magic. And my oh my, with those sexy moves up her sleeves and the acrobatic maneuvers done for, Katrina Kaif slowly shed her clothes, one piece after the other as we kept watching with an open mouth and bated breath.
Sonakshi Sinha:

Enough of receiving flak for her heavy weight issues, Sonakshi decided to go the easy route, one that got her noticed. Despite a debacle of sorts in that Himmatwala number, Sonakshi rose back from the ashes like a phoenix, as she sparkled with that traditional saree in a total desi avatar. From saris in her Sawar Loon number paving way for an otherwise vulnerable Sonakshi claiming her fashion spots, she kept on to her strategy and never ditched her favourite clothing: the sari. No matter how much we criticize the girl for her flab, we can’t resist but agree that she looks fab in those charming saris that fit her curves like choco mousse! Oh La La. No wonder she even got a song dedicated to her sari-love! Saree ke fall sa, anyone?
Sonam Kapoor:

Talk of fashion and there’s one Indian who clearly tops everyone else. This Kapoor lady who has outshone all her contemporaries in the fashion department took a huge leap as she challenged herself to look like a teenager in Ranjhanaa. The film which takes us through many stages in Sonam’s life in the film has been carefully managed, thanks to Sonam’s stylist and her keen dressing sense. No matter what, she is the biggest fashionista that India has ever seen in recent times. She even made an impactful cameo in Farhan’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag where she sparkled as the sweet and docile Biro. A clear winner, hands down!

With Shuddh Desi Romance, Parineeti somehow decked up as the Barbie doll in few scenes and for the rest, she just let it loose! Cutting down on her carb and shedding oodles of kilos, Parineeti slipped into those tight figure hugging dresses with a tender coyness. We could not do anything but scream Wow!

Another star who had been repeatedly bashed for her weird fashion statements, has somehow evolved into the beautiful princess who kept the world guessing her next fashion move. Nevertheless, there could have been no one better than our lovely Kangana fitting into that skimpy yet extremely sexy blue Kaya attire, one that hugged her body like a million bucks. And the Dil Tu Hi Baata number fading away in the background caught a glimpse of the fashion babe Kangana as the fashion police went gaga over her mutant look. In real life too, she kept on experimenting with new hairdos, new styles and new clothes. Whether it is the lace dress or the flowing gown, Kangna quite nailed it brutally this year.
