Happy New Year starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone has run into legal trouble due to its song ‘Sharabi‘. Singer Surj has accused the makers for not giving him credits for the track and filed a legal notice against them.

The song in the film has been composed Vishal-Shekhar although the original track was composed by Manj and Surj who were earlier a part of a band called RDB. Though they eventually parted ways, Surj is asking for credits in this song too.
It is being said that the song’s singer Manj sold ‘Sharabi‘ to Vishal-Shekhar under false pretexts, without consulting his former partner Surj. While makers Red Chillies is yet to respond, no productive solution has come yet.
