The release date of Gabbar was recently announced by the makers. Starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in lead roles the film, being produced under the Viacom18 Motion Pictures banner along with Bhansali Productions, will now release on 3rd April 2015.

When Akki was snapped shooting for the film, we found him sporting a rugged look with a beard. The film is being touted to be a remake of Tamil film Ramanna by A R Murugadoss. This same film was remade in Telugu as Tagore with Chiranjeevi in the lead and then in Kannada as Vishnu Sena with Vishnuvardhan in the lead role and in Bengali as Tiger (2007 film) and now the Hindi remake will be called ‘Gabbar‘.
The film revolves around the story of a common man who defies corruption in the system and decides to abolish it. Gabbar, which was initially slated for a release on 23 January 2015 was shifted to April as it was clashing with another Akki starrer Baby, is being directed by Krish.
