There is a tad bit of problem with the schedule of Happy New Year. The team which began shooting for its second schedule in Mumbai might face stiff work issues. The Western India Motion Picture and Television Sound Engineers Association have teamed together to issue a non-cooperation instruction to its members, directing them to stop work if the prevalent disagreements are not sorted within December 8.

The Association’s letter puts forward their grave woes of delayed payments, fewer leaves and lack of conveyance fee despite odd work hours. The rampant sacking of sound professionals is also a major reason why the Association has decided to take the non-cooperation move.
The letter informs that the Association will withhold all audio-visual programmes indoor, outdoor, studio, post production, film and serial shooting, ad films, song and music recording, editing, mixing, dubbing from December 8 if matters are not resolved immediately.
The existing serials and movies will face the brunt of this. Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year is one of the prime films in production right now which has at stake heavy losses if the issue isn’t dismissed at the earliest. It is important the non-cooperation move is lifted sooner or else Red Chillies might lose substantial money due to this debacle.
The other films that might get affected by this, will be Subhash Ghai’s Kaanchi and Bhushan Kumar’s Bhoothnath 2.
