At the launch event of Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami, Superstar Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the trailer and look of the upcoming satire. Also present at the event were known actors like Anupam Kher, Irrfan Khan and filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia.
Though low brow comedy is the norm today, when Shah Rukh was asked if he approves of such comedies, the actor said, “Everyone has their own taste. I think if a good theme is put across in a theatrical tone, if comic hues of a black satire is told interestingly, it should work. We all put in our best effort but we have to appease a lot of people. It is important to take back home anything more than an empty pack of popcorn.”

SRK recently found himself amidst unusual controversies. The actor who was seen performing on stage with a lady officer in uniform has incurred the wrath of many for it. Clarifying his stand, King Khan said, “We have earlier performed for policemen. There was a time in the 50s and 60s when actors and actresses used to perform at the border for our soldiers. So this wasn’t anything out of the blue. The reason why a controversy happened here was because it was a lady officer in uniform. In my opinion, this is a distinction between made between men and women and that is plain silly.”
King Khan was sharing the dias with Irrfan Khan and both are Superstars in their own right: one reigning the commercial scenario and the other a master of niche films. On talking about why King Khan doesn’t do many niche, art film’s, the superstar replied with, “I will be honest. If everyone starts doing same films, there will be no variety. I will keep learning from actors like Irrfan and Anupam. But after years in the industry we do get changed, we make our distinct choices. I hope I have made good choices so far and continue to make good choices which make in line with some good films in near future.”
In an interview earlier, SRK had said that he might not be the biggest star or the best actor but he surely is the world’s best father and no one can take that from him. The conviction with which Khan had claimed it, made those words memorable. Speaking about his children Aryan, Suhana and the li’l AbRam, the actor said, “Whenever I feel tensed, I lie amidst their tender bodies and watch some television shows. A hug from your little ones can clear it all for you. And as for my boys, and I have two of them, I just hope I am the kind of father who conveys that no matter what you have done, you can come home.”
Currently SRK is immersed in the post production and promotional strategy for his upcoming film Happy New Year which is touted as the year’s most awaited film.
