The new edition of Singham has a marked difference from its last one. The second outing roars louder as the film’s team is putting it but as Ajay Devgn is donning the skin of the character he is best known for, the actor tells us why this time Singham Returns is different. In an interview to Koimoi, Devgn told us that this time Singham hasn’t been shown as a superhuman.
The actor explained, “We have kept it a little more real. I think even we have gotten to realize that we ourselves were beginning to get bored of seeing people flying and that whole style of action. With audiences changing, the way you treat your story has become very important. It is essential to retain realism. The film obviously has its own share of highs and lows given the drama in the script but we have also kept it extremely real this time.”

Continuing from it, the actor said, “The previous Singham never got hurt, but this Singham can get hit. That’s the basic difference. It’s like Iron Man. The last edition of Iron Man film showed him without the suit and it was the man fighting. So in Hollywood too they are changing their styles. You can’t show the hero taking over all the time. He also has his pressures. He also gets beaten up.”
So the trademark cars flying might be kept minimal in this film but Singham Returns seems to be more of drama and less of mindlessness that has infested masala films in Bollywood these days.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, the film stars Ajay along with Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles. The film will release on 15th August.
